Embedded within my understanding of human existence is the  principle of Gaia.

Gaia reprsents my belief that our planet is a living organism, intricately connected through various systems of relationship. My approach to human health and pathology is thus based on Systems Theory and also on Relational Psychoanalysis.

These approaches hold that within the tapestry of human relationships, the past -  threads itself into the present, our past walks in front of us, creating our present and our future. I see psychotherapy as a transformative process which helps us understand our past and all the positive attributes it has provided us and to embrace that help us to grow and develop and foster life. It also helps us to transcend and change those patterns which are destructive. 

I have had 34years of experience in psychotherapy and have a well-established practice in Lakefield Benoni.

I have a wealth of academic qualifications from many universities including a PhD from Rhodes university and a diploma from Sherwood University in the UK. My practical qualifications include the attendance of many work-shops and conferences on a national and international level. I have also published a chapter on clinical technique

Based on my understanding of human existence, and my wide foundation of training and experience I have many treatment modalities at my disposal. These include:

• Short-term and long-term individual psychotherapy for adults and adolescents
• Cognitive-behavioural therapy
• Couples therapy and sex therapy
• Family therapy
• Parent training

I adopt a flexible and integrative approach to meet the individual needs of all family members. Because I believe in  Body- ∞ -mind interconnection, I will always to work closely with your doctor, psychiatrist, and other heath practitioners (Symbol of med profs***) if you want me to. All aspects of your treatment are confidential.

The setting is somewhat secluded, peaceful, and secure, ensuring a relaxed and safe environment for contemplation and exploration

My fee per session is R1300. This is based on medical aid recommended tariffs. However I ask you to pay me first and then claim it back from your medical aid.

Consultations are offered between 8.00am and 6.30 pm Monday to Friday.  Available time slots vary but need to be booked in advance, especially if you have limited time flexibility.

Appointments not kept or cancelled before 12 the previous day will be charged for. Monday appointments must be cancelled by Friday.
